Natural Lip Balm Recipe with Aloe Vera Arborescens
Here is a simple and effective natural balm recipe using Aloe Vera Arborescens to soothe and speed up the healing of cold sores (herpes labialis) — featuring calming, regenerative, and antimicrobial ingredients:
1 teaspoon of pure Aloe Vera Arborescens gel
1 teaspoon of virgin coconut oil (antiviral and moisturizing)
5 drops of tea tree essential oil (antiviral)
2 drops of lavender essential oil (soothing and skin-regenerating)
½ teaspoon of beeswax (optional, for a firmer texture)
Gently melt the coconut oil and beeswax (if using) in a double boiler.
Remove from heat and add the Aloe Vera gel, stirring well until smooth.
Add the essential oils and mix thoroughly.
Pour the mixture into a small jar or container with a lid.
Let it cool and solidify (you can refrigerate it for quicker setting).
Apply a small amount directly to the cold sore 2 to 3 times per day.
Use at the first sign of tingling or itching to help stop the outbreak early.
Keep the container away from light and heat.
Always perform a patch test before first use.
Avoid dipping your finger directly into the balm during an active outbreak (to prevent contamination).
Not recommended for small children or during pregnancy unless advised by a healthcare professional (due to essential oils).
